The Denver City Council on Tuesday granted initial
approval to authorizing $2.4 million in low-interest federal
loans for the Lowenstein Theatre redevelopment along Colfax
Avenue.

The historic but long-vacant Lowenstein Theater
on East Colfax Avenue is poised to open in early July,
despite the loss two months ago of one of its three anchors,
the Denver Film Society. The owners of the Tattered Cover
